Baby Safety - Outside the house
While taking care of baby inside the house might seem arduous, it is
relatively simple outside the house. The simple reason is that you would
not be managing too many things all at the same time. A little care would
ensure that your little bundle is safe at all times. Here are a few basic
rules:
0-4 months:
Too much of outdoor air is not advised for her right now. An hour of walk
and exposure to mild sunshine would do. However, in case you need to take
her out while shopping or visiting, remember these:
1. If you live in a busy city, do not take her out during the 'peak
traffic' hour. Pollution may cause allergies and infections.
2. Do not take her out if the weather is too hot or too cold. Put on
suitable clothing for her.
3. If you take her in a car, put her in a baby capsule or chair with her
straps on. If you are not driving, sit in the rear seat with her on your
lap.
4. While shopping, carry her around in a carrier or in her stroller. Keep
all the belts and straps fastened and do not leave it unattended.
5. If you are eating out, ensure that you have taken her feed along. Do
not give her outside food - she is not old enough for it yet.
5-8 months:
By now she is big enough for longer outings and short trips of travel.
