FEVER
Fever is the body's reaction to invasion by foreign bodies. However, the
cause for this fever has to be diagnosed and treated. Commonly the
following symptoms are observed in the case of a fever:
A few hours before you
physically sense fever, the baby gets highly irritable and tired. She
does not sleep well and does not eat properly.
As soon as you sense
that her body is hot, use a thermometer and check her temperature by
inserting it into her anus for a minute.
Give her Paracetamol
according to the dosage prescribed for her weight. If the fever persists
administer Paracetamol after 6 hours. If the temperature persists for
more than 12 hours, take her to a doctor
If the fever is because
of immunization (some of which might have been done as long as 3 weeks
ago), it will persist for a day or two and vanish without further
medication.
