Working mothers often depend on grandparents and other relatives to take
care of their baby. This is a happy sign as it means family support. If
you are a grandparent or a relative, here are some of the points you have
to keep in mind:
1. You may have brought up healthy children before but be cautious about
olden beliefs and superstitions. Do take the pains to understand what
science and doctors advise you to do and not do.
2. You are taking care of baby while her mother is out working. All the
same, respect the fact that the mother needs to bond with the child while
she is at home. Leave the two together alone.
3. Do not advise mother when she has returned tired from work. Find some
other time to do it.
4. If you have tried some new food or administered some medicine, keep
mother aware of it.
5. Never trust young girls and untrained servants with the baby. Do not
send her out with them or leave her alone with them for a long time if you
have to go out. In case a long outing is necessary, make arrangements with
a recommended day-care center to take care of her or better still, mother
can take a day off if she can.
Some of the important Do's and Do Not' s to be done.
